Melt blown fabric is the core layer of respirators designed to filter particles. To help protect the masks' condition so they can function correctly, it's important to store the melt blown fabric according to the specified requirements.
Until they are needed for use, the melt blown fabrics must be stored:
• In their original packaging ( Melt blown fabric manufacturers generally knows well about the best packaging way to keep the good condition.)
• In a clean environment with humidity and temperature within the acceptable range specified by requirement
• Away from direct sunlight
Why shall the melt blown fabric be stored at such conditions?
The major reason is that the filtration efficiency of melt blown fabric for pathogenic microorganisms depends on the static electricity processed to melt blown fabric.
At suitable humidity and temperature, the superior melt blown fabric has good charge storage stability, which could ensure the excellent filtration efficiency for long time.
But when melt blown fabric is stored badly, such as the high humidity environment, due to the polar groups in the water molecules, the heterogeneous particles in the atmosphere compensate the charge on the fiber and cause a large loss of charge, hence it would make nothing for mask production.
